Versatility, energy and adventure

Multisport at Sogndal Folk High School is for those who like to be active and want to try many different things. It combines training, sports, outdoor activities and varied activities for a year of both challenges and mastery.

The study trips go to Spain (sports, outdoor training and the beach) in the fall, Hoddevika near Stadt with surfing, and a winter trip to Africa and Tanzania.

Throughout the year you participate in sports such as handball, football, volleyball, floorball and padel. We go kayaking, climbing indoors and outdoors, camping, via ferrata, kiting and winter activities – and many ski days at Sogndal Ski Center.

Exercise is an important part of everyday life, with functional fitness, intervals and strength training as regular elements. In addition, you can try activities such as surfing, cycling, golf, martial arts and disc golf.

In Sogndal we have state-of-the-art training facilities. Our new training center has a wide range of equipment, and all students receive a training card at Spenst – just five minutes away from the school by bike. Outdoors you will find a sand volleyball court, artificial turf fields, the mountains surrounding the school and the fjord right outside the door.

    • Summit tours – trips to various mountain peaks with good views.

    • Glacier trekking – crossing a glacier using ropes and crampons.

    • Volleyball and beach volleyball – play both indoors and outdoors on the court and sand.

    • Wet certificate in sea kayaking – paddling on the fjord and practicing rescue and technique.

    • Via ferrata in Loen or Hemsedal – climbing a rock wall on secured routes.

    • Tent trip in Jotunheimen – trip with accommodation in tents.

    • Various ball sports – activities such as football, floorball and basketball.

    • Golf – introduction to basic technique and game.

    • Own training – planning and carrying out your own sessions.

Field trip

Study trip autumn: Spain

This is the trip for you who want to combine activity and learning with sunny days and good memories. This is a perfect combination of sport, learning and cultural experiences.

  • Spain's sun, warmth and beaches create the perfect setting for an active study trip. This is where Linja's focus on multi-sport really comes into its own. We explore different activities and experience Spanish culture and society up close.

This trip gives us the opportunity to:

    • Lots of outdoor sports activities and group classes with others, followed by a swim on the beach.

We test various forms of training outdoors in beautiful surroundings.

Exploring nature and culture through cycling or mountain hiking.

The days can include everything from padel, tabata, HIIT, strength training, beach volleyball, running, swimming, dancing and mini golf. In addition, we can use the time for calmer activities such as yoga, stretching and morning sun sessions.

A typical day usually consists of training in the morning and afternoon, a short siesta in the middle of the day before another round of activity in the afternoon. The day ends with a shared dinner and social program.
