Common excursions

The whole school together on a trip, we go on three group trips during the school year.

Get to know Aurlandsdalen by hiking

The whole school goes to Aurlandsdalen – a valley world-renowned for its spectacular nature.

We spend the night at the cozy tourist cabin at Østerbø, where we enjoy socializing, good food, and getting to know each other well.
The next day we hike together down through the valley and experience some of the most impressive landscapes in Western Norway.

The trip is about community and building bonds from day one.

Skiing in Hemsedal

In January, the whole school travels over the mountain to Hemsedal. We stay right by the slopes, perfect for "ski in and ski out". We get a full 3 days on the slopes to develop our skiing technique and learn new tricks. The students are divided into small groups according to level, and you can choose between mountain skis, telemark, and slalom/rando. Some of the instructors are hired, but many of the teachers from the school are also with us! There are two sessions during the day with instruction, while the rest of the time you can use for free riding.

In the evenings, there will be a good dinner and social gathering in the common room.

Boat trip in Nærøyfjorden

Towards the end of the school year, we go on a two-day boat cruise on the Sognefjord. We have the whole boat to ourselves and sail into the majestic Aurlandsfjord and Nærøyfjord. In beautiful Dyrdal, a roadless hamlet, we stay overnight. Here there are good opportunities for outdoor activities and mountain hikes for those who want it. We live on board the boat, in the schoolhouse, and for the most outdoor-loving, in tents. In the afternoon, we make barbecue on the quay, and arrange for social gathering around the campfire in the evening.

The next day we walk along the north side of the Nærøyfjord on the beautiful postal road to Styvi. Here we have lunch, which is barbecue, and for the extra tough ones, there is the possibility to take a refreshing dip in the fjord.
