New pier by the fjord

Sogndal Folk High School has a new pier for kayaking, canoeing and swimming.

The dock has always been a popular swimming spot for young people living in the village in the summer - and of course among our students, but now it has become bigger and MUCH nicer. It will be much easier for our students and for Sogndal Turlag - who have the boathouse for their kayaks - to get out on or in the water.

The prime mover behind the project is teacher Hendrik, who is a teacher for the Ski and Climbing program - but he is also a skilled carpenter and joiner. Now many enjoy good days in and by the fjord on a dock we expect will last for many many years! A big thank you to Hendrik and everyone who has been involved in this.
