OUR DORMS
How you'll live at Sogndal Folk High School
We have beautiful dorm buildings of a high standard, where every room is bright and cozy. The dorms are sheltered from traffic, centred in the school's apple orchard.
Rooms and facilities at the school:
All rooms are bright and pleasant
Airy and nice dining hall, with views over the Sognefjord
Sitting room where you can gather around the hearth and light a fire. A warm and cozy place to meet.
School kitchen, state of the art and well equipped.
Gym, with theatre stage
Workout and fitness room
Outdoor amphitheater, with bonfire area and two hot tubs
Seahouse with canoes and kayaks
Sand volleyball court
Artificial grass pitch with floodlight, and if it is cold enough, the pitch is converted into an ice rink in winter
Bike workshop
Ski workshop
Sewing room with new sewing machines
Vegetable garden
Apple orchard, with space to hang up hammocks and to go slacklining
Private dock where students swim year-round
Music room, where students are free to use the available instruments
Life at the dormitory
Although most choose to live with a roommate, it is also possible to request a single room if you have special needs. And don't forget – you get plenty of storage space for safe storage of bicycles, skis, equipment and everything you need to get the most out of your folk high school year!
The nice thing about the dormitories at Sogndal Folk High School is that they are not gathered in a row in a hallway, but that all the doors to the rooms lead out to a cozy common room.

Our dormitories
Mountain dorms
Houses 4 dormitories. The mountain dormitory has its own bathroom in all rooms.

There are four dormitories in the mountain dormitory:
Nuken
Fanaråken
Galhøpiggen
Skagastølstind
there is room for 6 people in each dormitory.
Orchard dorms
Houses 8 dormitories with shared bathroom. Here, seven people share one bathroom, two showers and two toilets.

Each house accommodates 7 people, with three double rooms and one single room in each.
