Autumn trip on the Lusterfjord

We have had an intense and good autumn so far. There has been a lot of line subjects, and some local travel.

The outdoor classes have recently had days on Jostedalsbreen glacier, and on the coast in Solund. One of the first trips for the outdoor class at Tale Ivarhus was in a kayak on the Lusterfjord.

Ingunn Nonstad Fornes has made a short report from the trip. Pictures below.

Kayak trip to Mosaviki – Outdoor activities

September 13-14

When the weather gods play a team, there is little to complain about. After the morning assembly, the class set off for Vedvik, which was to be the starting point for the kayak trip of a lifetime. A total of 19 of us divided ourselves into 16 kayaks, including 3 tandem kayaks, and began paddling out across the Lustrafjord. The sun was shining, the fjord was still, the mountains were reflected in the water, and the rain was miles away. To put it mildly, a perfect day for a kayak trip. On the way to the campsite, we stopped by Ornes, where Norway's oldest stave church is located. With local plums, raspberries, and apples to snack on as we walked, this break from paddling was absolutely perfect. We then paddled across the fjord at the same time as the ferry set off on its daily route from Ornes to Solvorn. If we didn't arrive before the ferry, we certainly didn't spend long getting to Mosaviki, where we set up camp. The evening consisted mainly of food, conversation, and a good atmosphere around a warm campfire in otherwise dark surroundings. After a successful adjective story about an even more successful day, we took the evening off and recharged our batteries for the next day. And the batteries were fully charged, at least after breakfast, which was a gourmet meal like no other. Even though efficiency decreased, cowboy bread on the trip can be highly recommended. Good and full, we turned our faces back home, on yet another silent fjord. The sun peeked out as we passed SOLvorn and we paddled on with it while smiling at the sun. Finally, we returned to Vedvik, got in the cars and drove home from a kayak trip that was simply idyllic.
