The 2020 TV fundraiser
The big TV campaign has ended and our students have really done a great job this year! They started the project 100 FOR THE SEA and lasted from 05.-18.10. The project was, literally, about climbing as many altitude meters and mountain peaks before the period was over. They had sponsors through family and friends on the team. They went all out and raised more than 60,000,- NOK.
To encourage sponsors and keep motivation high, some worked harder than others. Sub-goals were set that challenged them to do various tricks. As the goals were reached, there were both boys with clean-cut hair, girls with bangs and, not least, two tattoos that can only be called dedication.
On the day of the campaign, students set up a stand and other fun activities in the city center, together with the committee in Sogn og Fjordane. The school also had its own day where we, among other things, dug for plastic along the fjord path, and collected plastic and trash in Sogndal. From everything we found, we made artwork and exhibited it at the school. There were many creative elements here!
The result far exceeded expectations, and the money was donated to WWF's work to combat plastic in the ocean - something that benefits the whole world. The school has seen for itself how the waste system in Vietnam is non-existent and is rooting for the infrastructure in Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines to be improved.
It's incredibly fun to see how young people mobilize and stand together for a better world for future generations.
