Principal position available at Sogndal Folk High School.
Sogndal Folkehøgskule is a liberal arts college with boarding facilities for 80 students. The school has been in operation since 1871. The school is organized as an independent foundation. The school has a strong place in the folk high school landscape with subjects within outdoor life, climbing, sports, photography, health and lifestyle. The folk high school's mission is to provide general education and public awareness.
Based on the school's core values of equality, democracy and community, the school wishes to stimulate personal growth and academic development among its students.
We want a visible and participating principal in a versatile and challenging job. The principal is the highest educational leader and has great freedom to influence the profile and content within the school's framework, in collaboration with staff and the board. The principal must facilitate good learning and collaboration conditions and a good environment for everyone at the school. The school wants a principal who, with insight and wisdom, can further develop the school so that it can also be an attractive folk high school and meeting place for different target groups in the future.
Sogndal is an active school and educational center where the folk high school wants to be a clear player. The principal also has personnel, operational and financial responsibility. The board of the foundation is the school's highest body and the principal reports to the board. The principal has some teaching duties.
Sogndal Folk High School is located in the center of Sogndal, a short distance from most things, including a modern theater and cinema, Fosshaugane Campus, the world-famous fjords and summit hikes in Jotunheimen.
Good connections by plane, boat and bus. The position is available from 01.08.2
Qualifications
- Leadership experience
- Relevant pedagogical education at college/university level
- Administrative expertise in finance and personnel management
- Good written and oral presentation skills.
- Personal characteristics
- Ability and motivation to further develop the school in line with its values and goals
- Good interpersonal skills, being clear as a leader and building trust
- Happy to be with young people, have a good mood and be supportive.
